NISSWA PLANNING & ZONING ADMINISTRATOR <br /> JOB DESCRIPTION <br /> NATURE OF WORK: <br /> The Nisswa Planning & Zoning Administrator is responsible for both <br /> administrative and technical operations of the Planning & Zoning Office. The <br /> Planning & Zoning Administrator shall possess: <br /> • A detailed knowledge of land use law, statutory planning authority and <br /> water resource protection regulations. <br /> • A knowledge of the functions of City, County, State & Federal <br /> government agencies and how those functions relate to the citizen. <br /> • A firm understanding of the budgeting process from a City standpoint, <br /> along with experience in effectively managing a budget. <br /> • A working knowledge of statistics, surveying and an ability to analyze <br /> trends. <br /> • Effective communication skills that allow the individual to work with all <br /> people in a diplomatic manner. <br /> • A knowledge and understanding of City and County land use and <br /> characteristics. <br /> • Proven organizational skills to be able to multi-task and prioritize. <br /> EXAMPLE OF JOB DUTIES: <br /> The Planning & Zoning Administrator: <br /> 1 . Will be required to confer with property owners, builders, contractors <br /> and developers regarding development of properties in the City of <br /> Nisswa. <br /> 2. Will be required to provide strong administrative support to the <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission. Is responsible for establishing policies <br /> and procedures for the office. <br /> 3. Will be required to enforce the Zoning Ordinance including the <br /> Shoreland Management Regulations, Subdivision Platting Regulations, <br /> Comprehensive Plan, Transient Merchant Ordinance, Pornolition <br /> Ordinance and Individual Sewage Treatment Sys+ , Ordinance and <br /> all other applicable City regulations. <br />
