PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br /> BOARD MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 13TH, 2022 <br /> Members present: Board Members-Terri Grimes, Renee Moodie (Conference call), Mark <br /> Jurchen, Courtney Gran, Faith Kimbler,Shannon Wheeler,Angie Duus, and Linda Olson. <br /> Attending from the Friends of the Library were Tom Adams,Tom MacAuly, Steve Labarre,Ann <br /> Hutchings, and Clarice Blaeser. Joell Tvedt, Community Education, also attended. The meeting <br /> was called to order at 4:30 by Chairman Mark Jurchen. <br /> Approval of the Minutes: The minutes were previously emailed to the board for review. <br /> Motion by Renee,seconded by Terri to approve. Motion carried. <br /> Financial Statements: The statements are available on the City's web site and were emailed to <br /> the board prior to the meeting. Faith moved and Terri seconded a motion to approve. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Report from Linda Olson: Linda shared that it has been going well. She said that she is getting <br /> to know the volunteers and "getting her feet wet". An inventory of published materials is and <br /> will be in the process of being updated. <br /> Holiday Observance: A discussion of days that the library would observe for paid holidays for <br /> Linda was discussed. A motion was made by Courtney and seconded by Renee to follow the <br /> City's policy. Motion carried. It was also discussed to leave Martin Luther King's birthday, <br /> Veteran's Day, and President's Day as days volunteers could staff the library to have it open. <br /> Inclement Weather: Renee moved and Terri seconded a motion to close the library when City <br /> Offices and the School District close their facilities. Motion was approved. As a side note,the <br /> discretion of operating during inclement weather would be left to director Olson considering <br /> the wishes of the volunteers staffing at the time of adverse conditions. <br /> 2023 Library Budget: Mark reviewed the budget for 2023 that was prepared by the budget <br /> committee consisting of Linda Olson, Stacey Paulbeck, and Mark Jurchen. Courtney moved, <br /> Faith seconded a motion to approve. Motion carried. <br /> November 30th,2021 Chamber Event: Mark and Courtney shared that the Library had hosted a <br /> Pequot Lakes Chamber event on the 30th. It was attended by about 15 individuals and was a <br /> success. A tour of the facility was done along with an update of City events and each attendee <br /> sharing information on their business or organization. <br />
