run the program. Mark and the board recognized her tireless efforts in arranging and <br /> administering this program. Also noted was Claire Nagel for coordinating the publishing for the <br /> summer event. <br /> Terri shared that we had 134 children participate, 40 of which completed the program. This <br /> exceeded pre-COVID numbers. This year's programs featured activities and information on <br /> Minnesota, its history and geography. <br /> The costs of the program is increasing and a donation of$1,000 was received from the Pelican <br /> Lake Conservation Club for 2023's program. The day will be changed to Tuesdays from <br /> 10:00AM to 11:00AM. This will coordinate programs with day care providers and the library's <br /> "Story Time" on Wednesdays which will now be held at 10:30AM. <br /> 2023's theme will center on Wellness and Fitness and various programs and presenters are in <br /> the process of being arranged such as introductions to Yoga,Zumba, a nurse and dietician, and <br /> possibly characters from the Shrek production scheduled for next summer. <br /> Other Special Events and Programs: Terri continued to share some other events and programs <br /> which include featuring Bob the Magician on December 10th for Santas Bobbin Into Town, <br /> Halloween at the Library with Terri in costume and Jenny Moe passing out candy, and the Red <br /> Book Shelf at Speedway which Nancy donates books to from the library. <br /> Lot Purchase behind the Library: Nancy announced to the board that the Friends of the Library <br /> had purchased the lot behind and to the west of the library for future expansion and outdoor <br /> programs and activities. Collaboration with the 4-H, Master Gardeners, and other groups on <br /> utilization of the lot will be undertaken. <br /> Calendar on Web: The board briefly discussed the coordination of the use of the meeting room <br /> and other facilities with a calendar and various forms on the web page. It was a consensus at <br /> this time to leave the contact in person and over the phone to make sure the system is working <br /> efficiently prior to digitalizing it. <br /> Budget Committee for 2023: Mark will call a budget committee meeting to establish the 2023 <br /> budget the first week of October. Linda, Nancy, Mark, and Stacey will serve on the committee. <br /> Board of Director Residence Requirements: Mark shared that,with the board's blessing, he <br /> would approach the council to allow Cass County residents to serve on the board. Nancy <br /> indicated that she could not remember why the exclusion was established. A brief discussion <br />
