Pequot Lakes is eligible for this funding opportunity with a 52.66% low to moderate income(LMI) population. It would be advantageous for Pequot Lakes to apply for SCDP funding to combine with Minnesota Public Facilities Authority(PFA)financing for the upcoming wastewater project. Funding Opportunity Description: SCDP funding is federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is a competitive program that is administered by Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development(DEED). Eligible projects must meet one of three federal objectives; Benefit people of low and moderate incomes, Eliminate slum and blight conditions or Eliminate an urgent threat to public health or safety. Public Facilities funding is used to reconstruct failing, outdated, public infrastructure projects that pose a threat or hazard to the health and safety of residents.The entire population of Pequot Lakes will benefit from this project and this funding request. • Maximum of$600,000 can be granted for a public infrastructure project The SCDP program requires a two-step application process: • Pre-applications are accepted in November 2022. • Projects that score the highest are invited to submit a full application.These applications will be due in March 2023.
