The Officers will meet January 9th at 6:30 pm at the hall.
The department has purchased two haz-mat training DVD's which we will use for our
`-- own in house sessions. This training may not be as boring as the jeopardy style blood
borne pathogens training we have had the last couple years.
Bill Rickard suggested we step up our accountability program in 2008. He would also
like us to inform dispatch and our fellow fire fighters of what vehicle and how many fire
fighters are in each responding unit to a call. Fire fighters were also reminded by Bill that
all our fire fighters are welcome to respond to the Pequot station for RIT team mutual aid
calls. The team can use drivers and extra air mask personnel at these incidents.
Jeremie is recording who is in possession of fire department issued two way hand held
radios.
We need a copy of our group picture for our bulletin board and for any one else who
would like a copy.
There was a discussion and reading of a proposed by-law change to change our meeting
starting time to 6:30 pm for business and training meetings. This will be voted on at next
business meeting. Another proposed by-law change is to place fire fighters who do not
make the required percentage of fire calls per year on probation for the next year. If they
do not meet the requirement the next year also, they could be terminated. This also would
be voted on at a future meeting.
`.. John Hayes, Scott Warner, and Matt Zins have completed their year of probation by
meeting all requirements. A vote was held on an individual basis to accept each member
to full-fledged fire fighter status. All three were approved by unanimous votes. David
Wilson did not meet his required percentage at fire calls and was given another six
months probation to help him meet the requirements.
The relief association board discussed bills to be paid. Invoices due to Schaefer's Foods
were for$92.74 and $61.47 for a total of$154.21,the scholarship amount due to the high
school was $300.00, the $50.00 gas card for the Petersons, and the $100.00 to help the
Ken Frederick family were presented for discussion. Wendt motioned to pay the bills,
second by Bridge, motion passed.
Larson motioned to adjourn the meeting, second by Wendt, meeting adjourned.
PRESENT AT MEETING: Peterson I, Casanova, Oaks, Szymanski, Crist, Nelson,
Nordby, Bridge, Rickard, Varilek, Knutson, Chris Carlson, Mike Peterson, Evenson,
Larson, Schwankl, Selter, Zeimet, Tasha Carlson, Cerise, Waasserbauer, Wendt, Hayes,
Warner, Wilson, Zins, and Council liaison Oraskovich(26 fire fighters)
