Water Meter Fee Policy
Gary Giltner presented a proposal for a Water Meter
Maintenance/Replacement policy. He noted that this was a
recommendation from the Utility Rate Study completed by Ehlers. The
proposal is to charge all meters that are 5/8" in size a $2.00 per month fee
and multi family and commercial meters (any size over 5/6") a $3.25 fee
with a 3% increase per year.
COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT THE WATER
FEE MAINTENANCE REPLACEMENT POLICY AS RECOMMENDED
BY GARY GILTNER TO BE IMPLEMENTED APRIL 1, 2008. COUNCIL
MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-
0.
The Council discussed a request from Shirley Robideaux to reduce her
water/sewer bill. The request was made due to a large spike in her water
usage which she claimed she did not use. Gary noted that he checked the
meter and the meter was accurate. After discussion it was the consensus
of the Council not to issue a credit. The Council was concerned about past
requests of this type not being granted and the setting of a precedent if a
credit was granted.
9. Police Chief Monthly Report
Report given by Officer Chad Nangle.
