MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 15, 2022 <br /> Members Present: Chair Lottman Commissioners HaIlan, Luebke, Rieck, and <br /> Commissioner Lelwica via Zoom <br /> Members Absent: Commissioner Becklin and Holley <br /> Others Present: Angie Duus, City Clerk/Treasurer; Jenny Peterson, Deputy <br /> Clerk; Tyler Glynn, BLAEDC; and Nichole Heinen, Chamber <br /> Director <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Lottman at 8:01 a.m. <br /> 2. Consider Agenda <br /> COMMISSIONER LUBEKE MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br /> PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER REICK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 3. Approve EDC Minutes <br /> COMMISSIONER REICK MOVED TO APPROVE THE FEBRUARY 15, <br /> 2022; ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES AS <br /> PRESENTED. COMMISSIONER LUEBKESECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 4. School Update <br /> Mr. Stumpf gave an update at the school: the school received a $14,000 <br /> planning grant for Safe routes to schools, the facilities study has started for <br /> the next 7-8 months, there were 410 students who open enrolled for 2022- <br /> 2023, 107 students enrolled elsewhere, early childhood midday <br /> transportation and activity buses starting March 30th. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding expanding the parking, electric car charging <br /> stations, vacation of Olson Street, Robotics league heading to world <br /> competition and the Girls Backet Ball team heading to state. <br /> 5. Chamber Update <br /> Ms. Heinen stated that the Brainerd, Pequot Lakes and Crosslake visitor <br /> guides have arrived. On the back of Pequot Lakes visitor guide is hosted <br /> by Pequot Tool. Ms. Heinen will be meeting with local businesses and <br /> advisory board to strategic plan on what the businesses would like from the <br /> chamber. Stars and Stripes and Bean Hole Days committees are meeting <br /> and would like to find volunteers. Explore Pequot Lakes will be starting on <br /> the last Wednesday of the month for business owners to meet. Lonesome <br /> Cottage will host the first"Explore Pequot Lakes"on March 30, 2022,from <br />
