CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> COUNTY OF CROW WING <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AND AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR <br /> SOURCEWELL COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDING FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS GRANT <br /> SUBMITTAL. <br /> WHEREAS,Sourcewell has a grant program that offers local government entities to fund initiatives that <br /> can have community wide impacts;and <br /> WHEREAS,The City of Pequot Lakes is the sponsoring agency submitting a Sourcewell Grant <br /> application;and <br /> WHEREAS,the funding requests have to show a public purpose and benefit the region;and <br /> WHEREAS,this funding is for a public purpose and will benefit the local community and the region; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the Pequot Lakes Police Department's Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation Training <br /> Through Virtual Reality project is an initiative developed by the Pequot Lakes Police Department and <br /> approved by the City Council to improve the ability of local law enforcement officers to respond to high <br /> stress and volatile incidents involving mental health and people in crisis. <br /> WHEREAS,this proposal supports multiple public benefits including the health,safety,and education of <br /> the Pequot Lakes community and across the region regarding public safety and <br /> WHEREAS,the Pequot Lakes Police Department would collaborate with other area police departments <br /> including the City of Pequot Lakes Police Department,to maximize the number of officers participating <br /> in the project. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEQUOT <br /> LAKES,MINNESOTA HERBY SUPPORTS AND AUTHORIZES THE SUBMITTAL OF AN <br /> APPLICATION FOR SOURCEWELL COMMUNITY IMPACT FUNDING TO SUPPORT THE <br /> CRISIS INTERVENTION AND DE-ESCALATION TRAINING PROJECT. <br /> Passed by the City Council of Pequot Lakes,Minnesota this day of <br /> Mayor <br /> Attested: <br /> City Administrator <br />
