Serves as Police Department representative at community meetings,Adult <br /> Protection, Victim Services, Mental Health Stakeholders and other board <br /> meetings. <br /> L. Assists with the compliance and audit reviews by the BCA, MN Post Board and <br /> other entities. <br /> M. Serves as ISD 186 liaison for school safety, implementation of safety standards, <br /> protocols and measures. Attend policy and safety meetings and make <br /> recommendations. Responsible for assuming the role and responsibility of school <br /> administrator to include but not limited to student investigation,discipline,parent <br /> notification and meetings when no other school administrator is available and as <br /> needed. <br /> 4. Additional Duties <br /> A. Operates and assists in maintaining all equipment and vehicles used by the <br /> department. <br /> B. Keeps firearms clean and operating and maintains proficiency in firearm use,self- <br /> defense,and first aid. <br /> C. Performs other duties when assigned or when necessary. <br /> D. Makes recommendations to the Police Chief on any matter that will improve the <br /> functioning of the Police Department. <br /> E. Supervises the retention of files within the department. <br /> F. Responsible to oversee,coordinate and investigate major incidences including but <br /> not limited to natural disasters,sexual assaults,death scenes,death notifications, <br /> emotionally disturbed,physical control and arrest or detainment of suspects <br /> and/or individuals. <br /> G.Assist medical coroner. <br /> Required Knowledee,Skills,and Abilities: <br /> • Comprehensive knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to law enforcement <br /> administration, budget,and supervision. <br /> • Comprehensive knowledge of division rules and regulations throughout the City laws and <br /> ordinances. <br /> • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of police personnel supervision. <br /> • Comprehensive knowledge of department policies,rules,regulations,and of controlling <br /> laws,ordinances,and court decisions,or the ability to acquire such knowledge in a <br /> relatively short period of time.Thorough knowledge of City laws and ordinances. <br /> • Considerable knowledge of the geography of the City and local area and of buildings and <br /> areas requiring special attention,or the ability to acquire such knowledge in a relatively <br /> short period of time. <br /> • Considerable skill in handling and discharging firearms in an efficient and safe manner. <br /> • Considerable skill to expertly drive a motor vehicle under any condition. <br /> • Comprehensive knowledge ability to analyze complex police problems and to adopt <br /> 3 of 5 <br />
