Open Forum <br /> No one appeared under open forum. <br /> 5. Presentations <br /> 5.1. Bolton and Menk—Cooperative Road Study Presentation <br /> Jake Bongard, with Bolton and Menk, gave the overview of the presentation to <br /> the Council. <br /> Mayor Gardner asked how State Aid Standard roads vary from County Standard <br /> Road. <br /> Mayor Gardner asked Mr. Bongard if any other entities have given an idea which <br /> option, they would go with. Mr. Bongard stated that no entity has made any final <br /> decision. <br /> Council Member Ronning inquired about the County Standard as to why the <br /> Breezy Point is higher than Pequot Lakes. Mr. Bongard stated that Breezy Point <br /> is the sole owner of Buschmann Road, whereas Wild Acres, Nelson Road are <br /> shared roadways with the townships and City of Pequot Lakes. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding grading, sightlines, safety, car count, accident <br /> numbers, and Options A(Buschmann/Akerson)& B (Wild <br /> Acres/Nelson/Buschmann). <br /> Mayor Gardner stated he would prefer the County Standard guidelines on Nelson <br /> and Wild Acres due to the future costs for maintenance, however, it all depends <br /> on funding options. <br /> Council Member Pederson would like to know the cost of replacing the current <br /> asphalt but keeping the road the same route. <br /> Dave Peterson with Ideal Township asked Mr. Houle if Widseth has a prior <br /> estimate on a resurface of a Nelson Road. Mr. Houle stated Widseth started the <br /> process but did not get to the final stages with any pricing for the project. <br /> MAYOR GARDNER MOVED TO SUPPORT OPTION B OF THE <br /> COOPERATIVE ROAD STUDY TO MOVE FORWARD. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
