Ciry Council Minutes <br />March 4, 2014 <br />Page 3 <br />------------------------------ <br />Council Member Akerson — Questioned how long the dogs have been in the <br />same neighborhood. <br />Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 5:57 p.m. <br />The Council deliberated reviewing the facts, findings of fact, and the definition of <br />a dangerous dog. <br />Council Member Akerson stated he cannot be sure that there was no provocation <br />by the attacked dog. Mayor Adams, and Council Members Gardner and <br />Pederson agreed that the attacked dog was killed by a domestic animal without <br />provocation while on the attacked dog owner's property. <br />The Council asked the Police Chief to explain the conditions that must be met if <br />the dog is declared a dangerous dog. Chief Klang reviewed the statutory <br />requirements. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14-06 FINDINGS, <br />CONCLUSIONS AND ORDER OF PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL ON <br />HEARING REGARDING PEQUOT LAKES POLICE DEPARTMENT'S <br />FEBRUARY 12, 2014 DANGEROUS DOG DECLARATIONS. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE: COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON — NAY; COUNCIL <br />MEMBER GARDNER — AYE; COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON — AYE; <br />MAYOR ADAMS — AYE. <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-1. <br />Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Sandra A.
