City Council Minutes <br />March 4, 2014 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />----------------------------- <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO ACKNOWLEDGE CHAD <br />TURCOTTE'S SUCCESSFUL SIX-MONTH PROBATION PERIOD AND <br />AUTHORIZE AN INCREASE IN PAY PURSUANT TO STEP 11.5 OF <br />THE PAY STRUCTURE EFFECTIVE MARCH 25, 2014. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4- <br />0. <br />8.2 Reauest to Hire Part Time Officers <br />Chief Klang requested the Council to hire four part-time police officers as <br />limited part time employees. He stated that all applicants have <br />successfully passed the required background and criminal history checks. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO HIRE ELISHA DWYER, <br />DAN SCHAD, MATT JORGENS AND BRAD PETERS AS LIMITED <br />PART TIME POLICE OFFICERS EFFECTIVE MARCH 5, 2014 AT <br />$17.82 PER HOUR. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />9. Public Works <br />9.1. Lift Station U�,qrades <br />Mike Loven requested the Council to authorize the purchase of telemetry <br />equipment which allows remote monitoring of the lift stations. He also <br />requested the Council to waive the two bid requirement. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />PURCHASE OF TWO MISSION COMMUNICATION M110 CELLULAR <br />RTU'S AND 1 M800 UNIT FOR THE MAIN LIFT STATION INCLUDING <br />INSTALLATION AND LABOR FOR $11,400 AND TO WAIVE THE TWO <br />BID REQUIREMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />9.2. Assianment of Funds <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO ASSIGN $74,000 FROM THE 2013 <br />ROADS AND STREETS CAPITAL OUTLAY BUDGET TO THE ROADS <br />AND STREETS CAPITAL OUTLAY CARRYOVER FUND FOR CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS IN 2014. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />9.3. North Washington Avenue Improvements <br />
