1%, <br />City of <br />Pequott <br />Lakes= <br />AGENDA ITEM #12.3. <br />REPORT TO <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Date: December 1, 2009 <br />Subiect: Budgeting and Reporting Process <br />Report: At the last Council meeting, the Council made a <br />motion directing staff to change the style of budgeting to a <br />seasonal style of budgeting. The Council wanted to know <br />how much time it would take to implement this style of <br />budgeting. <br />Nancy Malecha contacted our financial software vendor to <br />ask them to create a worksheet for department heads to <br />assist in implementing this style of budgeting. This has <br />been done. Nancy ran the appropriate worksheets for each <br />department head. I will have a copy of the worksheets for <br />the Council to review at the meeting. Part of the process <br />entails looking up past information to see when expenses <br />are made and when revenue is received. <br />I have contacted the State Auditor's office to ask if this <br />style of budgeting is common for cities. The answer I <br />�- received is they are not aware of this type of budgeting by <br />
