Park Commission Minutes <br />October 8, 2020 <br />Page 3 <br />------------------------- <br /> <br />applicant last month, however, the Park Commission meeting time did not work <br />for her. <br /> <br />Chair Ronning also stated that there are 2 Park Commission seats up at the end <br />of 2020. <br /> <br />9.5 Art in the Park <br />Commissioner Churack informed the Commission that she matched up the <br />waivers from 2017 and 2018 with the art in the park. However, she stated that <br />there are 11 pieces that do not have signed waivers. She has reached out to Mr. <br />Todd Knutson at the High School regarding the Art in the Park but has not <br />received any information back yet. Commissioner Churack will work on getting <br />waivers completed through the High School Office for the pieces. <br /> <br />10. Other Business <br />Chair Ronning was asked write a letter allowing the County to complete a bike <br />path from the Fire Tower location into the City of Pequot Lakes. He would like to <br />write a letter on behalf of the Park Commission. Ms. Bittner will contact Mr. Ryan <br />Simonson with Crow Wing County regarding the County’s plan for the bike path. <br />Once she receives the information she will let Chair Ronning know so he can <br />write the letter. <br />Chair Ronning stated talks about the splash pad will begin again next month. The <br />Park Commission’s role is to gather information and bring this information to the <br />City Council, who are the decision makers. He wanted to remind the Commission <br />that if we have members of the public at our Park Commission meetings, either in <br />person or via zoom, we need to remember all opinions will be respected and <br />recorded. <br /> <br />Chair Ronning wanted the Commission to reach out to Ms. Bittner if they would <br />like to be a liaison for any specific area of our parks. <br /> <br />Ms. Bittner stated the work on the Armed Forces Flag Display is starting today or <br />tomorrow. <br /> <br />11. Next Meeting <br />11.1 November 12, 2020 <br />Chair Ronning inquired who would all be in attendance for the November 12, <br />2020. All Commission members present except Commissioner Melby will be at <br />the November meeting.
