BLMM Real Estate LLC
3341 Southway Drive — PO Box 1065
St. Cloud, MN 56302 -1065
320 - 251 -2082
October 22, 2009
To: Nancy Adams
Mayor — Pequot Lakes
Re: Oasis Liquor /Oasis Mall
I want to begin with a sincere thank you for your time today. I realize that
you stay extremely busy so I appreciate this opportunity. Equally important,
I hope that you will be open- minded to our concerns. The issue of a potential
third off -sale liquor license would have dramatic negative effects on Oasis
Liquor, the Oasis Center, the Oasis tenants, all Oasis Center employees and I
believe the community at large.
As mentioned at the September Council meeting the new grocery operator
may be approaching the City with a request to change your current ordinance
to expand the number of off -sale liquor licenses from two to three.
This is a major concern for all of us connected to the Oasis Center. I fully
understand that you and the council can't base a decision solely on the
impact it will have on an existing tax paying business, and as a result, I will
note those concerns as secondary. I do believe however there are serious
principled concerns surrounding this issue; let me point out some that come
to mind.
OR
