October 6, 2009
Water Policy
Due to declining revenues in the water department, we have looked at ways to turn
this around. One thing that stood out was our summer water averaging. After a
discussion with the Council Liaison, I would like to recommend ending this program.
In 2009 it cost the department $13,499.28.
If a water user would like to install a deduct meter to help off set some higher
summer use, the cost would range, for parts & equipment from the city — not
including a private installer, from $125.00 to $500.00 depending on the size of the
meter needed and type of installation required up to a 1" meter.
Mike Loven
Public Works Supervisor
M
