I met with Rich Spiczka, the new city administrator for Peq"uot Lakes, on Monday the 14th. We had <br /> an excellent visit and he has an understanding and appreciation of the challenges we have <br /> ,' concerning adequate housing in our community. He was able to share stories about school district <br /> employees, including his family, struggling to find affordable and livable homes in the City of Pequot <br /> ' Lakes. We are looking forward to his support and direction in our efforts. Thank you for your time, <br /> Rich. <br /> ' We reported to the Economic Development Commission the activities and accomplishments since <br /> the meeting in November at yesterday's meeting. We have the support of the EDC which now <br /> includes a $5,000 commitment to the SCPD grant program. Both John and Eric stressed the <br /> importance of providing the some "skin in the game"financially in our efforts to garner public <br /> financing for support of rehabilitation and home construction activities. The Housing Trust Fund will <br /> P be an important tool in providing gap financing on construction projects. They are excited about our <br /> ` willingness to address the housing issues in our community and are looking forward to working with <br /> us. <br /> Please let Michelle or me know if you have any input or questions on what has happened or the <br /> future process. The Pequot Lakes City Council set the date of lanuary <br /> 25th, 2021 at 6:30PM to begin setting the priorities and objectives for the coming year. We will ' <br /> introduce the EDC's and Task Forces'wo'rk on increasing and improving the housing inventory in our <br /> � � <br /> city. Attached is a copy of the Work Plan reviewed at last night's council meeting.
