they would like to see addressed. Chairman Woog directed Staff to make this letter a part
`.• of the permanent record.
Discussion followed regarding signage. Due to the traffic created by this operation the
City may ask MN/DOT to lower the speed. It was suggested that signage be for the
lower speed zone. The Lakes State Bank sign works nicely and is tasteful. Oppidan did
not have a rendering for their pylon sign.
The Pollnow letter was discussed. Restricting hours of operation is not viable for a
commercial operation. Proposed lighting is downward directional as outlined in the
Ordinance. The speed will be controlled on Olson Street. Mr. Tucci stated they have met
with the Pollnows. They have planted 6 or 7 little pine trees, roughly 70 foot area.
Oppidan has suggested a 6 foot privacy fence from a little west of the house to the last
pine tree. They are prepared to install the fence, with the fence being on the store side of
the trees.
Mr. Tucci further stated they are getting an easement for access over a private drive.
They have no control of the road. The road is currently 22 feet wide. City spec is 44
feet. The narrower street will discourage truck traffic.
Chairman Woog stated the Landscape Plan consists mainly of deciduous trees. He would
like to see some spruce or pine along the front section that runs along the gas pumps.
The Highway 371 Overlay requires 25% evergreen trees.
A motion was made by Dean Williams, seconded by John Derksen, to approve the
Conditional Use Permit based on the following Findings of Fact:
1.
