City Council Minutes <br />October 6, 2009 <br />Page 6 of 12 <br />the intersection. He indicated that the road vacation allows Northern Food <br />King to expand to the east of the site, to keep land for on -site parking, and <br />to close and improve an intersection. Justin noted that the Second Street <br />vacation allows enough room to expand the building to the west and add a <br />loading dock. <br />Council Member Nagel read the letter submitted by TDS. The letter <br />addressed concerns about the amount of traffic on the road and the <br />parking that takes place in the area. Council Member Nagel questioned <br />whether Justin could address TDS' concerns. Justin Bolz- Andolshek <br />indicated that there should be no problem addressing the concerns. <br />Justin further indicated that he would work with the City in regard to the <br />existing storm sewer in the area. <br />Discussion was held regarding the location of the manhole. Council <br />Member Nagel questioned if Justin is prepared to connect or add sidewalk <br />to close the end of the street. Justin indicated that he is prepared to make <br />it a standard that is acceptable. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO JOIN THE PETITION TO <br />VACATE FIRST STREET. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO OPEN THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE <br />VACATIONS OF FIRST AND SECOND STREETS. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Mike Loven - questioned what the City will do with the remaining 32 feet. <br />Dave Sjoblad suggested that the City sell the property to the adjoining <br />property owners for a dollar. Paul Sandelin indicated that once vacated, <br />the street would be closed. <br />Tom Adams - 48410 Olson Road, Peguot Lakes - Questioned whether <br />the entrance onto County Road 11 would be closed as part of the <br />vacation? Justin indicated that the road would be closed upon <br />commencement of building project. <br />Justin Bolz - Andolshek stated that he is closing a road that he does not <br />currently own and therefore, this would have to be discussed at a later <br />date. Paul Sandelin indicated that the Council will have some decisions to <br />make in regard to the closing. <br />A resident of Breezy Point - stated that the traffic is terrible at the <br />`.- entrance to the grocery store and a sidewalk and closing the street would <br />be good. <br />
