City Council Minutes <br />October 6, 2009 <br />Page 3 of 12 <br />-------------------- - - - - -- <br />Mavis Thomason - 30497 Highway 371 — She stated that If the <br />developer needs City sewer, the City should pay for hooking up to the <br />sewer. <br />Stephanie Foster - PO Box 133 Peciuot Lakes — Stated she is not a <br />resident of Pequot Lakes. Ms. Foster stated that it is destructive to give <br />TIF to this project. <br />Dean Brandt - 4450 Main Street — Does not feel it is fair to give subsidy <br />as it is an unfair advantage to existing businesses. He suggested that the <br />City should spend its money to fill the empty buildings in town. <br />Valerie Wallin - 30919 So 8th St. — Stated that she agrees with Justin <br />Bolz - Andolshek. She questioned whether her taxes would increase due to <br />the tax abatement. She further questioned the procedure of tax abatement <br />and questioned if Oppidan had the property under contract. <br />Joe Ryan - 5125 So. C.R. 101, Minnetonka — Joe explained that they <br />have primary parts of the development fully under contract. Jennifer <br />Boulton, Briggs and Morgan, stated that there is no direct requirement to <br />own the property before abatement is approved. <br />Richard Andolshek - 527 River Street, Mpls. Mr. Andolshek suggested <br />that there should be a level paying field for existing businesses. <br />Will Able 473416th Ave. SW — Mr. Able indicated he is opposed to tax <br />Abatement. <br />Barbara Porter — Peguot Terrace — Not in favor of subsidizing a large <br />corporation. <br />Don Porter - 8647 Clamshell Cove — Would be opposed if it was going <br />for anything other than bringing this to a level playing field as the IGA. Not <br />opposed to it in this instance. <br />Meet Bye —1775 County Road 17 — Ms. Bye indicated that the abatement <br />does not require a rigid but -for standard. <br />John Dunn - Rice Creek Drive — Breezy Point - Feels it is wrong to <br />grant tax abatement for this project. Should not get an incentive that <br />existing businesses do not receive. <br />Joe Ryan — Oppidan - Spoke about the reduction from $800,000 to <br />$350,000. Spoke about the Cabellas TIF issue that was brought up at the <br />
