for our donation to the grad blast committee. The prom committee thanked us for the
mock car crash awareness. Our scholarship recipient, Cody Larson, also sent a thank you
note.
Safety issues tonight were to watch your surroundings on a fire scene and be aware of
what is happening around you and any potential hazards. Some examples of situations to
take special care of are any scene dealing with roofs, doorways, or windows. Motor
vehicle incidents need notice of possible injuries caused from struts, which can be on
several locations of a vehicle. Be careful if you ever have to move a positive pressure or
exhaust fan. Rickard emphasized when any one drives an emergency vehicle all traffic
laws must be remembered. All drivers must comply with speed limits, traffic signs, other
motor vehicle on the roadways, and always stay in you driving lane. Also when our
pagers notify us of a call, drive safely to the hall, put on all required safety gear, be
responsible for your actions, act professionally, work as a team, do not swear or use any
foul language, and drive defensively. Any violations of these regulations will not be
tolerated.
The Chokecherry pancake breakfast will take place from 7:00 am to 11:00 am on
Saturday, August 15a'. The Chief reminded us all to do our share to help with this event.
There are several other events that week -end that some of us may want to participate in.
Jessica is willing to help with the breakfast, but also wants to be able to participate in
community events.
The new office room needs to have trim, carpet, light fixtures, and doors installed. We
need your help with anything you could do.
Larry found a commercial gas fired double convection oven for sale for $1025.00. He
thought it would be a good sausage cooker for our breakfasts and it would be more
reasonable than purchasing another grill. It would be capable of cooking 18 cases of
sausage at a time. The grill has been purchased by approval of our Officers. There was a
lot of disagreement with the tentative purchase being done without previous discussion at
a meeting. The grill was on an auction and a decision had to be made at once. It should be
ready to use for the Chokecherry event. Cooking trays were also purchased at a very good
price.
Tom recommends we purchase additional tables at this time.. Twenty more tables would
allow us to be able to servo our breakfasts with no additional tables needed from area
departments.Rickard will get price estimates from Sam's Club and Menards.
The Breezy Community Fest recently cancelled due to lack of interest has a new group
willing to sponsor the activity. It is scheduled for Saturday August 29 from 11 am to 2
pm. We could use fire fighters to help with the display of fire trucks and equipment.
Zeimet, Bridge, and Putnam expressed interest to help.
Tasha announced there will be a birthday party for Chris Carlson at his house this coming
Saturday after 6 pm. Bring your own beverage is recommended.
M
