Cil� Of <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes— _ <br /> September 2020 Public Works Report <br /> Buildings• <br /> - Weekly full cleaning and restocking paper in city buildings. <br /> - Solicited numerous bids and finalized projects far Cares Act Funding (HVAC upgrades, City Hall <br /> Entrance Improveinents, Controlled Entry Systeins, ADA Doors) <br /> - PW Staff discovered 2 Crabapple Trees were planted by Library Staff(via Landsburg Landscaping) <br /> in small grass corridor in front of the library. Despite have multiple communications stating there <br /> should be no trees in the reconstruction design due to limited space and building/care proximity <br /> creating multiple maintenance problems they proceeded anyway and went so far as to notify the action <br /> to the local paper. Also, no dig locate was performed to our knowledge, creating liability risks for the <br /> installer and city. PW Staff maintains that their presence will create future maintenance issues and <br /> potentially damage to buildings and vehicles or patrons. <br /> - Removed Recycling at City Hall & Clean/maintain Oil Recvcling Bin <br /> - Conducted Monthly Building Inspections <br /> - Grounds maintenance including seasonal pruning <br /> - Bengsten Electric was contacted to perform several punch-list items requiring an electrician such as: <br /> fixing City Hall Parking Lot Lights (bulbs,photo cells, or ballasts), diagnosing and fixing City Hall <br /> Entrance Overhang Lighting, repair failing exterior outlets at the Chamber(utilized for Xmas). <br /> Streets• <br /> - Repaired rain washouts, and graded gravel roads as needed. <br /> - Communicated and coordinated with Outdoor Specialties (of Pine River) on our Asphalt Repair, <br /> Cracksealing, Curb Painting, and Striping they are conducting in town on (Front, Main, Government, <br /> Rasmussen, Patriot). Weather willing, it should be all completed by the 2°d week of October. <br /> - ongoing routine fleet maintenance including greasing, washing, oil changes, filters, etc. <br /> - finalized signage(No Parking) along S. Washington by Legion <br /> - inspected new railing when installed in front of Ed Jones Office, it looked great(Rassm. Rd. Proj.) <br /> - the Loader have been very useful in the following projects this month alone: <br /> >removed 2 trees fallen on Peterson's Horse Fence off Front St. (w/ Grapple Bucket) <br /> > large horizontally suspended pine tree off Pillsbury(Safest way possible) <br /> >Grading on Brunes, Coleman, & Inland w/3.5 yrd.bucket- works great on small jobs <br /> >pushing up brush pile at the pit we use to deposit our tree and roadway trimmings <br /> >hauling dirt and distributing on small projects not requiring dump trucks in addition <br /> - PW staff have been doing and OUTSTANDING job of brushing back our roadways and reclaiming <br /> our Right of Ways long overgrown. This will help in a huge way for school busses, Trucks, and snow. <br /> - Spoke to PE, Tony Pohl on the Rasmussen Road Construction project in regards to a few small items, <br /> several of which are TDS and MN Power Related. <br /> - a few locates were called in for Mailbox Installations, 911 Signs, and Street Signs <br /> - installed mailboxes and 911 signs <br /> - Attended a Cooperative Roads meeting in Breezy Point with the Mayor. Members of the group were <br /> then working further with CW Cty. Engineer to finalize the RFP. This is specific to a coordinated <br /> effort to improve Nelson, Wild Acres, Akerson, and Bushman Roads. <br />
