PARTIAL PAY ESTIMATE #2 PAYABLE TO TRI CITY PAVING IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $23,323.11 FOR WORK ON THE <br />BUTLERIWOODMAN STREET PROJECTS <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />4. Open Forum <br />Brian Laudenbach, General Manager of Oasis Center in Peguot <br />Lakes - Mr. Laudenbach read a letter addressed to the Mayor and City <br />Council Members. He stated that he is in the process of purchasing the <br />Oasis Liquor Store. He asked the City Council to consider not granting <br />`-- another off -sale liquor license. He stated that he will be disappointed if the <br />Council supports tax increment for a new retailer in town as it is not fair to <br />the retailers who have invested in the community so far. <br />Terry DeSutter, 20997 County Road 107 - Mr. DeSutter stated that the <br />Council's decision whether or not to move forward with the developer's <br />request will decide whether Pequot Lakes moves forward or remains <br />stagnant. He stated there has been an issue regarding location of <br />businesses in the core downtown area. He stated that there are many <br />businesses that are not located in the downtown area. <br />Mavis Thompson, 30497 State Highway 371 - Ms. Thompson <br />presented a petition with approximately 400 names of people who are in <br />favor of the new grocery store. She noted that presently many people go <br />to Brainerd to buy groceries and that voting in favor of this grocery store <br />will keep people in town. <br />Trent Jones - Wooddale Apartments in Peguot Lakes - Mr. Jones <br />stated he is In favor of the grocery store. He indicated he has spoken to <br />many people who are also in favor of the new grocery store. He indicated <br />he needs a job and requested the Council to vote in favor of the grocery <br />store. <br />I,.-. <br />
