A public
open house to gather input is scheduled for July 23. Prior to this event, there will be a large
public outreach effort through calls, mailings and press releases to get as much public
participation as possible. Following the July 23 event, the planning process will continue,
mostly at the Planning Commission level, through the remainder of the year and into 2010.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Council participation in the process is
especially welcome.
On a final note, the Planning Commission has reviewed the Comprehensive Plan in reference to
the proposed location for an expanded library facility. The Planning Commission determined
that the relocation of the library, as proposed, is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. Such
a finding by the Planning Commission is a necessary part of the process for acquiring the
building.
If you have any questions, concerns or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me.
