Flaq Displav Donation <br /> Ms. Bittner stated the City received a check, from an anonymous donor, through <br /> the Chicago Community Foundation in the amount of$11,899.32 for <br /> maintenance on the flag display. <br /> 6. U.S. Armed Services Flaq Displav Donation <br /> Ms. Bittner stated in addition to the original flag display, the original donor has <br /> agreed to grant additional funds to cover the U.S. Armed Services flag display <br /> around the Veteran's Memorial in Trailside Park. Ms. Bittner asked for a <br /> recommendation to the City Council to approve the grant dollars. <br /> CHAIR RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE THE GRANT DOLLARS FOR THE <br /> U.S. ARMED SERVICES FLAG DISPLAY. COMMISSIONER JOHNSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 7. Next Meetinq <br /> Chair Ronning asked the commission for attendance for the March 12, 2020 <br /> meeting. Several of the commission would not be able to attend so the meeting <br /> date was changed to Tuesday, March 9 7, 2020. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Chair Ronning updated the Commission on the Veteran's Memorial pathway. The <br /> path will be updated and extended to 17.5 ft. from the center of the Paul Bunyan <br /> Trail but not up to the trail. <br /> Chair Ronning stated members of the City Council will be attending the Park <br /> meeting on March 17 to see the splash pad presentation from Jeff Corniea with <br /> Commercial Recreation Specialists. <br /> Chair Ronning spoke about the lighting of the American flag in the Trailside Park <br /> display. Discussion ensued regarding up facing lights versus down facing lights. <br /> 9. Adiournment <br /> There being no further business, COMISSIONER SJOBLAD MOVED TO <br /> ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMISSIONER MELBY SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
