MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br />`.. City Clerk's Office <br />March, 2009 <br />Meetings <br />City Council Meetings <br />The Council held one Council meeting in March. <br />March 3. 2009 — Council Actions <br />• <br />Passed a resolution approving a County Project on C.R. 107 <br />• <br />Increased the limit on excess liability insurance by $1,000,000 <br />• <br />Amended the General Fund Budget by a reduction of $78,970 <br />• <br />Authorized staff to accept the title to Outlot A in the Branches Plat <br />• <br />Tabled the Ordinance Amendment on Shoreland Conservation Design <br />• <br />Set a policy that board and commission applications will be accepted up to two <br />weeks before the Council Meeting <br />• <br />Reappointed Mark Hallan and John Derksen to the Planning Commission <br />• <br />Authorized the Fire Department to sell the 1975 Pumper <br />• <br />Accepted Officer Gardner's proposal to continue the K -9 program and to <br />eliminate his pay in relation to the program <br />• <br />Approved a revised Emergency Siren Agreement excluding the School District <br />• <br />Approved plans and specifications for the South Oak Street project <br />• <br />Authorized the advertisement for bids for the South Oak Street project <br />• <br />Donated the theater seats to the Pequot Lakes Area Historical Society <br />• <br />Called a special meeting for the Board of Appeal on May 7 <br />Meetings <br />Park Commission <br />The Park Commission met on March 12"'. The minutes are attached. The Commission <br />was supposed to tour the parks in March. The tour was delayed until April due to <br />weather. The April tour will also be delayed due to weather. The Commission's main <br />goal of touring the parks is to decide on park sign locations and size and to look at further <br />development of Gildner Park. <br />Economic Development Commission <br />The Economic Development Commission met on March 17`h. The main focus of the <br />discussion was the Small Cities Development Grant. The Commission will continue <br />working on this at the April Meeting.
