Neil has communicated to Central about our leaking tank on Tanker 1. The factory
personnel say it will take more than a day or two to repair. Neil suggested we take the
tanker to the factory on a week end and leave it there for a week, which would allow
them time to get the job done. No date has been determined yet to deliver the tanker.
The mock car crash demonstration before the high school prom will be this Friday. If you
can participate, be at the fire hall before 9:00 am. It is scheduled for 10:00 am at the
school.
The incident safety officer training will be on Wednesday, April 15th and will finish on
Wednesday, April 291h, which is the 5th Wednesday training.
The Chief would like the participants that attended the confined space class to decide
what equipment we would need to be able to rescue victims from man holes and other
types of confined space situations. Tom is working with Mike Loven to make application
for 50/50 matching fund grants for needed equipment.
Tom and Bill went to Nisswa to see a demonstration of a new foam product that is
available. The new foam is non toxic, has no shelf life, can freeze and not be damaged,
and can be used for all situations we would need it for. It is more expensive that the
current foams we use now. The Brainerd fire department is checking into pricing and
delivery terms to purchase the foam in large quantities to lower the costs. —IN
There will be an Officer's meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, April 8th, at the fire hall.
Evenson motioned to adjourn, second by Zeimet, meeting adjourned.
PRESENT AT MEETING: Ackerman, Arnold, Bridge, Tasha Carlson, Casanova, Crist,
Evenson, Hayes, Jacobson, Loven, Nelson, Oaks, Mike Peterson, Peterson I, Peterson H,
Kate Petersen, Putnam, Rickard, Schwankl, Szymanski, Varilek, Warner, Wasserbauer,
Wendt, Wilson, Zeimet, Zins, and Council representative Tom Ryan
