He <br />noted that the truck will be taken to the factory located in South Dakota for <br />repair. He stated that there is a 20 year prorated warranty on the tanker <br />with three years left on the warranty. <br />8. Police Department Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />8.1. Part Time Police Officer <br />Chief Braam requested the Council to hire Joshua Herold as a part time <br />police officer. He noted that a conditional offer of employment has been <br />made to Officer Brandon Silgjord. He indicated that Joshua Harold will <br />replace Brandon Silgjord. <br />Council Member Malecha questioned whether Brandon Silgjord is still <br />employed by the City. Chief Braam indicated that he works very little and <br />`-- as previously stated, has a conditional offer of employment with another <br />department. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO HIRE JOSHUA HEROLD AS A <br />PART TIME POLICE OFFICER EFFECTIVE APRIL 8, 2009, AT $14.75 <br />PER HOUR. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />9. Public Works Department <br />9.A. WaterMastewater Monthly Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />9.A.1. Utility Payment Procedures <br />Mike Loven stated that staff is requesting a change in the way that the City <br />deals with landlords and tenants of utility accounts. The new procedure <br />would make the landlords responsible for all aspects of the utility accounts <br />including opening and closing accounts and making payments to the <br />accounts. <br />
