MONTHLY STAFF REPORT City Clerk's Office February,2009 Meetings City Council Meetings The Council held one Council meeting in February. February 3,2009—Council Actions • Jenkins Township Annexation—Removed former motion from the table and moved to deny the resolution for orderly annexation between Jenkins Township and the City of Pequot Lakes • Approved the final plat of Wilderness Resort Garages • Classified two parcels of tax forfeit property as Non Conservation. • Moved to begin the update of the comprehensive plan in four months from February 3rd • Accepted two grants from the Fire Department • Approved the Emergency Siren Joint Maintenance Agreement • Made a motion to send MnDOT a letter regarding the intersection of Hwy 371 and County Roads 29 and 168 `.- • Accepted the 2008 financial year-end report • Directed city departments to reduce budgets by 5% • Approved the Council Procedures • Accepted the 2009 BLADC Agreement • Approved the job description,job points, and hourly wage for the Public Works Supervisor • Decertified Tax Increment Financing District No. 1-8—Water Wars • Decertified Tax Increment Financing District 1-10—Veterinary Clinic • Authorized payment of OSHA fine with a letter requesting that the money be returned for use on the City's Safety Program • Authorized sale of F150 Pickup Truck in the Water Sewer Department • Request to MnDOT to close the entrance to Hwy 371 at North Front Street • Approved Phases 1 and 2 of the engineering proposal for the South Oak Street Project Meetings Park Commission The minutes of the Park Commission meeting held on February 12th are attached. The Park Commission has recommended the appointment of Pete Clement to the Commission. The Park Commission has been discussing the development of Gildner Park. They will tour the Park in May and at some point will make a recommendation to the Council on the development of the park.
