City Council Minutes <br />February 3, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 11 <br />----------------------- - - - - -- <br />COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />4. Open Forum <br />No one appeared for open forum. <br />5. Presentations <br />5.1. Presentation /Letter from Jenkins Township <br />Mike Dubay, Jenkins Township Supervisor spoke about the letter that the <br />Township Board has submitted to the Council. He noted that Jenkins <br />Township is requesting the City of Pequot Lakes to withdraw the <br />annexation resolution that has been tabled until May. Tim Kuhn, Township <br />Supervisor, was also present and spoke to the request to withdraw the <br />resolution. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TO TAKE FROM THE TABLE <br />THE RESOLUTION FOR ORDERLY ANNEXATION BETWEEN THE <br />TOWNSHIP OF JENKINS AND THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5 -0. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO DENY THE RESOLUTION <br />FOR ORDERLY ANNEXATION BETWEEN JENKINS TOWNSHIP AND <br />THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Ryan questioned if it would be better to leave the <br />resolution on the table until it is further researched by Jenkins Township. <br />Tim Kuhn stated that the Township Board has decided it wants more time <br />to study the future of Jenkins Township, however, at the present time the <br />Township is certain it wants to withdraw the resolution. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Council Member Nagel stated he would like to stay in touch with Jenkins <br />Township. Tim Kuhn indicated that it is the intention of the Township <br />Board to keep in touch with the Cities of Pequot Lakes and Jenkins. <br />5.2. Highway 371 Update — Tommy Woog <br />11%.1 <br />
