Under new business, Bartels asked what would be the best location to mount CO detectors in your
home. The best answer is where you can hear them from your bedroom when sleeping.Carbon
monoxide is produced when fuels such as wood, gas, charcoal, kerosene, and oil are burned. But,
for instance, if a faulty burning appliance such as a natural gas or propane burner operates in an
enclosed space which lacks good ventilation, dangerous amounts of carbon monoxide can be
released and cause poisoning.Carbon monoxide will penetrate to every room in your house if
present and will be from floor to ceiling level. Best locations for a detector would be in close
proximity to fuel burning devices and where they can be heard when inside your home.
Our next meeting will be July 315t at 7pm at the fire station.
Ryan motioned to adjourn, second by Lillehei, meeting adjourned.
PRESENT AT MEETING: Benson, Dubay, Ryan, Mayor Lillehei,Administrator Wussow, Nelson,
Peterson, and Bartels
