City Council Minutes <br />February 1, 2010 <br />Page 6 of 8 <br />-------------------------------- <br />9.1 Transfer of Wages/Benefits to Water /Sewer Funds: <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER <br />TO THE GENERAL FUND OF $45,390.14, WITH $22,176.65 FROM THE <br />WATER FUND AND $23,213.49 FROM THE SEWER FUND, FOR 2009 <br />WAGES AND BENEFITS FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR <br />AND MAINTENANCE WORKERS. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Public Works Supervisor Loven explained they had kept a record of their time for <br />the year. He questioned if the Council would like the employees to continue to <br />keep records of their time in the water /sewer departments for 2010. The Council <br />suggested that the same percentages be used in 2010. Mike Loven stated that he <br />would he will bring it back to the Council if he notices a large deviation fro 2009. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />9.2 Request to Forgive Sewer Charges: <br />Public Works Supervisor Loven presented Earl Hemmerich's request for a refund <br />of sewer charges. This is the second one in 2010. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO FORGIVE SEWER <br />CHARGES IN THE AMOUNT OF $138.75. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5 -0. <br />Staff was directed to notify Mr. Hemmerich that it is his responsibility to monitor <br />his meters and he should be doing daily meter reading. The City will not continue <br />to forgive sewer charges. <br />10. City Engineer's Report: <br />10.1 Report on West Lake Street: <br />City Engineer Houle stated the surveyors are looking into property ownership <br />along West Lake Street, as well as storm drainage. MN/DOT is open to working <br />with the City on storm drainage. These items need to get straightened out before <br />the design phase. <br />Options for storm drainaize: <br />• Go underneath the highway into east highway ditch and make it an infiltration <br />basin. MN/DOT doesn't want standing water creating a pond. That is not where <br />the water goes now. We need to maintain existing drainage patterns. <br />
