MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br />`-- City Clerk's Office <br />September and October, 2010 <br />Meetings <br />City Council Meetings <br />September 7, 2010, Closed Meeting <br />• Meeting was closed to discuss a pending personnel matter. <br />September 7, 2010, Regular Meeting <br />• <br />Held a public hearing to hear an appeal to a conditional use permit for a dog <br />boarding facility <br />• <br />Approved the preliminary plat of Wilderness Resort Villas <br />• <br />Certified the preliminary tax levy at $1,619,000 and formed a committee of the <br />mayor and one other councilmember to work on the budget with staff with the <br />intent of reducing the levy amount to no more than a 3% increase prior to setting <br />the final levy in December <br />• <br />Set the HRA Levy at $31,000 <br />• <br />Appointed Officer Kate Petersen as the Acting Chief of Police for a temporary <br />period of time at $22.65 per hour retroactive to the date of August 16, 2010 <br />• <br />Approved the temporary agreement between the City and Officer Kate Petersen <br />authorizing her as the acting Chief of Police for an indefinite and temporary <br />period of time <br />• <br />Approved the temporary agreement between the City and the union recognizing <br />that Kate Petersen will be appointed as the Acting Chief of Police and during that <br />time shall be on leave of absence from the union <br />• <br />Moved to keep the school contract at $27,500 for the 2010 -2011 year at 30 hours <br />per week which would cover wages and benefits for the police officer <br />• <br />Revoked the road agreement between Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes for Nelson <br />Road <br />• <br />Amended the existing public works services joint powers agreement between <br />Ideal Township and the City of Pequot Lakes for Wild Acres Road by including <br />Nelson Road to the agreement <br />• <br />Authorized the quote for services from Anderson Brothers for $7,534.13 for <br />improvements to Pine Grove and Hubbard Streets <br />• <br />Adopted Resolution 10 -24 ordering the preparation of the report on improvements <br />to North Sleutter road and to approve the proposal from WSN for North Sleutter <br />improvements assessment project to include the improvement study at $1,825 and <br />the special assessment assistance at $950 <br />• <br />Approved change order #3 for the West Lake Street project <br />• <br />Approved pay estimate #2 to Dechantal Excavating in the amount of $106,741.77 <br />• <br />Scheduled a public meeting of the City Council on December 7th at 7:00 pm. to <br />�- <br />discuss the 2011 budgets and levy <br />• <br />Called a public hearing for December 7, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. for the Wildlife Trail <br />assessment project and possibly for the North Sleutter assessment project <br />
