They are a <br /> walk-to facility with amenities that aze predominantly neighborhood-oriented(not <br /> generally to be used for competitive sports)and typically have: <br /> � Picnic tables and picnic shelters <br /> • Playground equipment <br /> • Trails <br /> • Basketball courts <br /> • Open field for casual and multi-use play <br /> • Resirooms <br /> • 10 to 20 parking spaces(off-street and/or on-street} <br /> �-- • Lighting <br /> Commnnity Parks: (This description is listed as an option for future development,) <br /> These are 20-40 acres in area within a 13/4 to 2 1/4 mile radius. They aze a drive-to <br /> facility that serves multiple neighborhoods including both competitive sports and passive <br /> recreatian facilities that are typically not provided in neighborhoad parks. These would <br /> have: <br /> • Active sports facilities(tennis courts,basketball courts,baseball fields) <br /> • Picnic areas <br /> • Playground azea <br /> • Broad areas of open turf <br /> • Lighted sports fields with bleachers <br /> • Small passive areas for neighborhood pazk functions <br /> • Community center for indoor recreation including ldtchen and meeting moms with <br /> lazge exercise azea <br /> • Natural area with trail <br /> City-School Parks: <br /> These may be I 5-50 acres in area and range from having neighborhood to City-wide <br /> accessibility. Joint development of City-School pazks allows for shared uses and benefits <br /> a wider sectian of the public. While schools use the facilities during daytime weekday <br /> hours,sports associations and the public may use the facilities during evenings and <br /> � weekends utilizing the park to its fuil potential. <br /> Page 4 of 13 <br />
