PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />1-.1 MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 1, 2010 MEETING <br />The monthly meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 28 members <br />were present. Evenson motioned to skip reading the minutes, second by Mike Peterson, <br />motion passed. <br />Truck and equipment checks were discussed. Rescue 2 is out of service tonight with a <br />bad tire and it also needs an oil change. It is also missing the fuel cap. Rescue 1 is good. <br />Engine 1 and 2 were both good, although the horn does not work on Engine 2. Tanker 1 <br />is good, Tanker 2's pump shaft seal is leaking, and tanker 3 is missing a spanner wrench. <br />The water tender is good. Grass 1 and the ATV and trailer were both good. <br />The financial report has our fire fund balance at approximately $160,000. Our new <br />checking balance tonight is $11921.70. During the month we paid bills of $132.00 for the <br />softball game, 60.00 for hay for the house bum, 100.00 to Pequot Lakes youth sports for <br />water, 233.02 to Us Food Service for breakfast food supplies, 91.31 for pop, 654.08 to <br />Lakes gas for gas hoses, Deposits for the month were $49.00 for police reserves for our <br />pancake breakfast, 2442.00 for the chokecherry breakfast, 35.00 for the scholarship fund <br />jar during the breakfast, 39.00 from Bill Rickard for shirts, and 1.49 for interest earned. <br />The scholarship fund balance tonight is $2451.65. The general funds for the department <br />are $9470.05. <br />The chokecherry breakfast had 374 people attend this year. Our profit for the breakfast <br />was $2040.98. Last year's attendance was 118 people and the profit was $141.00. Mike <br />Peterson motioned to approve the financial report, second by Warner, motion passed. <br />The safety topic tonight was about the difficulty of keeping track of where everyone was <br />during the recent incident at Snap Fitness. There were fire fighters on the roof, in the <br />basement, in the fitness center, and in other rental areas. All fire fighters need to help the <br />safety officer keep track of where we are. There is a Knox key box at the Fire Hall center <br />but no key available for Snap Fitness. We will get a key and it will also be in the Knox <br />box. <br />The Chief reminded us all that we need to keep all your turnout gear on to be covered by <br />OSHA. <br />The ISO testing is scheduled for Wednesday September 22 "d. Testing will begin at 4:00 <br />pm with Ideal Fire. Our test will probably begin about 7:15 pm. Everyone should try to <br />be there even if you are not doing anything. <br />There will be a relief association meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, September 8d' at the <br />hall. An officer's meeting will be held after the relief meeting. <br />The leftover pancake food is for sale. Prices for each item were read. <br />A discussion was held to determine whether or not we continue the pancake breakfast for <br />the Chokecherry festival. We have conflicts with the Dru Sjodin memorial run and the <br />
