If the Bypass is endorsed <br />by the City Council during the municipal consent process, there are a number of <br />roadways that Crow Wing County will turnback to the City. These are highlighted in red <br />on Exhibit A. The jurisdiction of existing Highway 371 will first be turned over to the <br />County and then transferred to the City. <br />Although each of these has been discussed with you personally or at other committee <br />meetings, I feel that the timing is appropriate to express the County's intentions in <br />writing. I want to ensure that the Council understands not only which roadways will be <br />turned back, but also the potential long and short term financial obligations associated <br />with them. I feel strongly that this information be available for consideration when the <br />City Council makes the municipal consent decision. <br />My review of the 2007 -2009 financial records shows that, combined, Crow Wing County <br />and MnDOT averaged nearly $30,000 per year on maintenance activities on the roads <br />AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER <br />
