As a reminder for the qry Cauncil,only two bids were received back at the beginning of August(Young Excavating at about$691,�0 and Aspen Constavction Company at about$760,000). We took all the line items and tried to split out the approp�fate quanttties amon�sst all the different sets of improvements the Council mentioned.We used an average of the two bids to apply to the quantities in each set of improvements. For�me of the"generaN'bid items(e.g.Mobilization;Work Zone Traff(c Corrtrol,Erosion Control Supen�isor),we did not splft them amongst the dffferent sets of improvements but instead used the average becaus�they would be needed on each set of improvemerit. This will resuk in the sum of the total of each different set of improvements e�cceeding the bids recetved (but ff you proceed with smaller projects,and quantities,we will probably see higher unit prices). NOTE that the design of Sibley Street anticipated Patrtot Avenue being removed,and so the vertical proflle grade of the proposed improved Sibley Street we�'straight'over to Frorrt Stree� If just Sibley Street is improved in same manner,a new design will need to be perfoRned,and a better cQst estimate than the one below would need to be prepared. Widening Government Drive on the west sEde by 2 feet from Main Street to Sibley Street�$90,000 ClaNfie�s:Two feet of existing pavemeM on the west side would be removed,widened by 2 rteet,and 4 new feet of pavemerrt ptrt in so the pavement joiM would avoid tire tracking.It also includes revisions to the bump out on the northwest corner of Main and Govemmen� Sidewalk on the south side of Main Street from Govemment Drive to Pat�iot Avenue�$8U,000 Garifiers:Includes some wark around the existing traffic car�trol cabinet in the southeast corner of Pat�iot and Main. Storm drain�ge system on Sibley Street from Government Drive to Front 5treet�$105,000 Clarifiers:It will be chalfertging just to put in a�storm drainage system"without a design and some roadway improvements.This cost does not include erosion contral as some kind of roadway wo�lc(with erosion contral�would be needed too. Roadway improvements on Sibley Street from Government Dfire to Fro�Street=$240,000 Ciarffte�s:This includes new curb and gutter,new pavement,and new sidewalk.Due to keeping Patriot Avenue,some kind of new design and a better oast estimate would need to be undertaken.
