PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />I*— MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 7, 2011 MEETING <br />The monthly meeting of the PLFD was called to order By Chief Nelson. Evenson <br />motioned not to read the minutes, second by Wendt, motion passed. <br />Truck and equipment checks were discussed. Engine 1 was missing a spanner and the <br />recoil start sticks on the bullet saw used for cutting roofs. Engine 2 was good. The new <br />gas monitor was calibrated. The old gas monitor disappeared from the Breezy station and <br />a police report was filed. We presently have two new monitors and the old one from <br />Engine 1. The sensor in the new models has a four year warranty. Tankers 1 and 2 were <br />good. Tanker 3 has a cracked upper radiator hose. A new air dryer and regulator has been <br />installed on it. Rescue 1 & 2 were basically good with an extra axe on 1 and low <br />antifreeze on 2. Grass 1 & the all terrain vehicle were good. The battery was dead on the <br />Tender. The gas cards do not work at SA during their reprogramming their sales <br />software. <br />The financial report is our new checking balance tonight as $9908.26. During the month <br />we spent $67.92 for pop and water, 337.01 for food for training and fire prevention, 47.00 <br />for pizza after a late night fire call, 15.00 for registration for the Cuyuna Range meeting, <br />and 2495.18 for our donation in purchasing a new more powerful hydraulic ram for our <br />Hurst tool. The scholarship fund balance is $2495.18. Tim & Dusty still owe the <br />department $25.00 each. Selter motioned to approve the report, second by Oaks, motion <br />passed. <br />For correspondence tonight we have been informed by Narveson Management that we <br />will not be receiving a donation from them this year. However, we did receive $102.00 <br />from Pelican Woods time share Association. <br />A safety topic tonight is the new ram we purchased is very heavy. Be extra careful when <br />handling it. <br />The house burn will be held this coming Sunday. Please sign up on the sheet if you will <br />be attending. Pine River has three new fire fighters that will be participating. Be at the <br />hall by lam if you can. <br />The fire service memorial that was displayed at the airport in Minneapolis is being moved <br />to a new location on the Capitol grounds. This memorial has the names and dates of all <br />fire fighters who have lost their lives on duty in Minnesota. These names are sorted by <br />decades. Oaks motioned we send $500.00 to help with the costs, second by Bridge, <br />motion passed. <br />The by -law changes that were recently passed will be discussed during our next three <br />business meetings. Articles 1 -3 will be discussed tonight. Article 1 was OK. Article 2, <br />section 7 should state a fire fighter has 2 years from date of hire to complete Fire Fighter <br />�– 1 classes, or at least be started. This was motioned by Oaks, second by Evenson, and <br />approved. The final vote to approve will be next meeting. Section 8 that addresses how <br />
