City Council Minutes <br /> November 14, 2018 <br /> Page 5 of 8 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> PURCHASE OF RESCUE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS ROPES, <br /> CARABINERS, AND OTHER EQUIPMENT FOR HIGH AND LOW <br /> ANGLE RESCUES. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8. Police Report <br /> The September 2018 Police Department Monthly Report was received by <br /> Council. <br /> 8.1. Ciiv of Jenkins Law Enforcement Contract <br /> Sergeant Turcotte explained that there are no changes to the proposed <br /> Law Enforcement Contract with the City of Jenkins and the number of <br /> senrice calls warrant no change in the contract amount. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2019 LAW <br /> ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT AND JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br /> WITH THE CITY OF JENKINS IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,200. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SWANSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5-0. <br /> 9. Public Works Report <br /> The October 2018 Water/Wastewater Report was received by Council. <br /> 9.1. Welcome New Public Works Director <br /> Mayor Adams introduced Jason Gorr as the City's new Public Works <br /> Director. <br /> 9.2. Request to Hire Maintenance Worker <br /> Nancy Malecha informed the Council that 16 applications were received <br /> for the Maintenance Worker position. She and Jason Gorr interviewed <br /> four applicants on November 9th and are recommending the City hire <br /> Dalton Engholm as a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Public Works <br /> Department. Mr. Engholm has successfully completed the background <br /> screening and he has verbally accepted the position at Step 7 of the City's <br /> current pay stru�ture. Ms. Malecha noted that Mr. Engholm is a Pequot <br /> Lakes Firefighter and he is currently assisting the Public Works <br /> Department as a temporary, as needed employee. <br />
