Mr. Graham requested the Council consider paving North
Sluetter Road. Mr. Graham noted that this Road is inadequately graded
and receives only one calcium chloride application every year. He further
noted that the property values would increase if this Road was paved and I
available lots would sell which would be a win-win for the City. ,
5. MOTION
CARRIED 5-0.
5.2. Hiahwav 371/Countv Road 29 Intersection I
Nancy Malecha explained that in October she received e-mails from
citizens regarding safety concems at the Highway 371/County Road 29
intersection. Upon receiving this information, she contacted Ken Hansen
at MnDOT to discuss these concems. Mr. Hansen provided the City with
an Intersection Evaluation Report which was included in the agenda
packet.
Jack Blesener, 27107 Pine Cone Lane, Pequot Lakes, addressed the
Council. Mr. Blesener noted that this is a bad intersection. He stated that
when MnDOT presented this intersection design to the West Twin Lake
association it showed a large enough median for bicyclists and
pedestrians to safely stop before proceeding to the Paul Bunyan Trail. Mr.
Blesener explained that the lack of visibility sight lines due to the Paul
Bunyan Trail Bridge is another concem.
