A motion was made by Tom Adams to accept the Preliminary Service Responses as the goals and main <br /> priorities of the Strategic Planning Process. Kevin Olson seconded it. Motion passed. <br /> Input by the Board about the Planning Committee's ideas: <br /> 1) Be careful on editing and include all ideas as some ideas may not be feasible now,but may be in the <br /> future. <br /> 2)Grant writing is a very important piece and it may be buried in the process and it needs to be <br /> emphasized. <br /> 3)There needs to be a realistic bent to all of this.The technology is not here yet and until fiber comes, <br /> the reality is we are getting the most we have right now. It will become available eventually, but it is <br /> unclear as to when that will happen. In the meantime,could Landis+Gyr fund the fiber to the library? <br /> New Business: <br /> A part-time paid position will eventually be needed with Donna Olson retiring.A motion was made by <br /> Tom Adams that$20,000.00 for a part-time employee for the library be put into the 2019 budget.This �i <br /> was seconded by Renee Moody. Discussion included advertising for a volunteer with the hope that in ' <br /> the meantime a volunteer could be found to fill Donna's position. Ideas for advertising included the <br /> Brainerd Dispatch,social media,and the high school. Melissa will look into Linkdln. <br /> A thank you event for ponna and Lavonne will be held in January at the library. Date to be determined. <br /> Nancy Adams will plan the event. <br /> Decoration for the library float for the Light Up the Night parade will be held Thursday Dec.6th at <br /> 4:OOpm in the police garage. Renee will find kids to ride on the float.The parade will take place in <br /> Pequot Lakes on Dec 8ih at 6:OOpm. Faith will ask around to find older kids to walk beside the float and <br /> pass out candy. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 5:30pm. <br />
