PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br /> Board of Directors Meeting Minutes <br /> November 26, 2018 <br /> Opening <br /> The regular meeting of the Pequot Lakes Community Library was called to order at 4:30pm on <br /> Monday, November 26, 2018 in the Pequot Lakes Library by Board Chair Melissa Birch. <br /> Present: Melissa Birch, Renee Moody, Faith Kimbler,Tom Adams, Kevin Olson, Nancy Adams <br /> Absent:Terri Grimes <br /> Treasurer's Report:$166,627.69 in City of Pequot Lakes library account.This does not include the <br /> Friends of the Library account.This does reflect the money that was transferred from Friends of the <br /> Library to the City of Pequot Lakes per auditor's suggestion. <br /> Volunteer Report: <br /> Nancy Adams reported that Donna will complete her volunteering at the Pequot Lakes Library Dec.5, <br /> 2018.Some of the other library volunteers have been picking up the slack.Sheri Moe has been doing the <br /> reserves on Saturdays which has been very helpful. <br /> Nancy also reported that a new exercise class for older people will start in December at 8:45am on <br /> Mondays and Fridays.Any donations from this exercise class should be made to Friends of the Library. <br /> The City of Pequot Lakes has a fee schedule, but can we ask the City to change the fee schedule? It will I <br /> be brought up to the city council. For profit groups can use the library meeting room but non-profit �� <br /> groups will be given first priority. <br /> Children's programs: <br /> Terri was unable to attend, but sent an email report that was read at the meeting which included the � <br /> following.Terri is working on the 2019 summer reading program.Terri gave a report to the Breezy Point <br /> Women's Club who then gave a nice donation for the summer reading program.She is looking forward <br /> to Santa Bobbin' Into Town when the magician will perform.Also,the Wednesday Storytime now has <br /> four storyteller volunteers. , <br /> Library Strategic Planning: '� <br /> The Planning Committee met in November.The suggestions and ideas from the Planning Committee �'� <br /> were presented by Melissa Birch.The main points the Planning Committee approved are the Preliminary �'� <br /> Service Responses.These Preliminary Service Response are as follows: 1)Basic Literacy 2)Commons , <br /> 3)Information Literacy 4)Community Referral 5)Current Topics/Titles 6)Lifelong Learning.The Planning I <br /> Committee determined that the most important things the library needs to focus on are:Succession � <br /> Planning,Children and Youth Development Programs,and Technology/Technology Space/Online ! <br /> �, <br /> Presence.
