Park Commission Minutes <br /> October 11, 2018 <br /> Page 3 <br /> ------------------------- <br /> Ms. Bittner stated that Crow Wing Energized contacted the City to let us know <br /> this Grant was available to communities who would like to improve the walkability <br /> within their communities. Discussion ensued regarding possibly applying in the <br /> future for this grant or another grant to assist in future park plans. <br /> 11. Next Meetina <br /> November 8, 2018 meeting attendance will be all present except Commissioner <br /> Jurchen and possibly Commissioner Bryan. <br /> 12. Other Business <br /> Chair Ronning is asking if there is a plan to light the new water tower like we <br /> have at the original Bobber Tower. Discussion ensued regarding the lighting of <br /> the water towers; at this time there are no plans to light the new water tower. � <br /> � <br /> Landscaping on the south end of Patriot Avenue (the plateau)was discussed due <br /> to a complaint. Ms. Malecha stated she spoke with MNDot and the landscaping <br /> plan cannot be changed. <br /> Commissioner Sjoblad asked if the roundabout landscaping is finished. Ms. <br /> Malecha stated that the project will be finished in the spring. Commissioner <br /> Johnson stated MNDot planted what will survive over the winter. Commissioner <br /> Sjoblad had questions as to why MNDot would plant the types of trees they did <br /> on the roundabouts. Commissioner Johnson explained that the types of trees <br /> that are planted may grow slowly but they also sustain long growing periods, <br /> which is the possible reason MNDot used these particular trees. <br /> 13. Adioumment <br /> There being no further business, COMISSIONER JOHNSON MOVED TO <br /> ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMISSIONER BRYAN SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
