City Council Minutes <br />August 17, 2010 <br />Page 4 of 11 <br />---------------------- - - - - -- <br />Discussion was held regarding the School Police Liaison Contract. <br />Janet Wedan stated that the school is asking for no raise in the <br />contract price. The Council requested Nancy Malecha to figure what it <br />actually costs for Officer Petersen to be in the school. <br />• Community Policing <br />Budget presented by Acting Chief Petersen. The proposed expenditures <br />for the 2011 Community Policing budget are $16,630. This is a <br />decrease of $28,100 from the 2010 budget. The City is no longer issuing <br />administrative traffic fines for speeding and therefore, the fund may be <br />depleted in 2011. No change to this budget. <br />• G O Equipment Certificate #2010A <br />This is a new fund which was created in 2010 for the purchase of the <br />police vehicles. The proposed budget is $29,100. In past years, the debt <br />service payments for police vehicles were included in the General Fund <br />Police budget. No change to this budget. <br />0 General Buildings <br />Budget presented by Mike Loven. The proposed 2011 General <br />Buildings budget is $68,630. This is a decrease of $5,820 from the 2010 <br />budget. <br />The Council directed Mike Loven to review <br />repair /maintenance /services to see if this could be lowered. Council <br />Member Ryan requested Nancy Malecha to calculate the cost of <br />heating, electricity, repairs and insurance for the library building. <br />• Roads and Streets <br />Budget presented by Mike Loven. The proposed 2011 Roads and <br />Streets budget is $558,000. This is an increase of $58,550 from the <br />2010 budget. The increase is due to an increase in engineering fees and <br />capital outlay for the Government Drive and/or Old Hwy 371 road <br />projects. <br />Discussion was held on the need to improve Government Drive. Mayor <br />Adams stated that there is a need to complete a feasibility study to <br />`- determine the cost and timing of completing the improvement. Council <br />
