Park Commission Minutes
September 13, 2018
Page 3
-------------------------
Chair Ronning inquired about the Trailside Park Project progress. Ms. Bittner
stated the project is on hold because the City Attomey is researching to see
whether the City has the authority to take out that section of Patriot Avenue. He
is researching the tumback agreements now.
Chair Ronning is asking for the City Council to give the Park Commission a
direction in where they would like it to go or look into any certain topics. Ms.
Bittner stated that in January the Council asks the commissions to come forward
with what they think should be done and the Council will give direction on which
ideas should move forward. Ms. Bittner did state that the Master Park Plan is
dated and will need to be addressed hopefully next year.
Commissioner Johnson stated that he will walk around Trailside Park to look at
the trees and help build a plan for the Christmas lights display. Ms. Bittner
suggested he meet with Pete Clement or Lance Ray to go through Trailside Park
and they will be able to let him know which trees are used for lights in the park.
9.
