AGENDA ITEM # 6.4
cZy of
Pequot
Lakes= _
REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Dawn Bittner
Date: September 4, 2018
Subiect: Ordinance Amendment regarding Metes and Bounds Subdivisions
Report: Our Ordinance allows a separate access tract for access to large tracts.
Most other jurisdictions allow easements. One problem with the separate access
tract is when properties are transferred, the access tracts can get missed.
The proposed amendment for parcels that are 10 acres in size or greater shall have
a minimum of 33 feet wide road access to a designated right-of-way.
The Ordinance would still require properties that are less than 10 acres to have 33
feet of public right-of-way for access.
The Planning Commission is unanimously recommends the Council approve the
amendment.
Council Action Requested:
A. Council motion approving the amendments to Section 17-9.4 and Section
17-11.9.
B. Council motion approving the summary publication. This requires a 4/5'
vote.
