OR <br />MONTHLY STAFF REPORT <br />City Clerk's Office <br />May, 2010 <br />Meetings <br />City Council Meetings <br />May 4th, Council Actions <br />• Acknowledged Application of Cops Hiring Recovery Program Grant <br />• Approved Resolution 10 -12 — Office of Justice Grant Application <br />• Awarded Tim Leagjeld "Reserve Officer of the Year" award <br />• 2009 Audit presentation <br />• Appointed Cheri Seils to the Planning Commission <br />• Adopted Resolution 10 -13 providing for the issuance and sale of $115,000 in <br />general obligation equipment certificates for purchase of police vehicles <br />• Transferred the Park fund cash balance to the General Fund and designated as <br />capital outlay carryover for purchasing lights in the Trailside Park and eliminated <br />the park fund <br />• Transferred the cash balance from the Storm Water Fund to the General Fund and <br />eliminated the Storm Water Fund <br />• Authorized the use of park dedication funds for the purpose of completing Gildner <br />Park with playground equipment and benches <br />• Approved the grow zone overlay map <br />• Authorized the sidewalk project including landscaping and accepted the low quote <br />from Billy Rickard for concrete work <br />• Approved a temporary expansion of premise permit for liquor sales for American <br />Legion for three summer events <br />• Amended the transient merchant ordinance <br />Meetings <br />Park Commission <br />May 6th Meeting .... (Minutes are attached) The Park Commission held a special <br />meeting in May to discuss regular park business. The meeting was held one week earlier <br />in an attempt to get a head start on the two park projects — Gildner Park and the Gazebo <br />in Trailside Park. The Park Commission's two big projects this year include: <br />Gildner Park completion involving the addition of playground equipment, benches, and <br />picnic tables <br />Demolition of the gazebo located at Trailside Park — the plan is to construct a new <br />�- band shelter. The Bands in the Park program has become a success with bands booked <br />almost every weekend this summer. The Park Commission would like to have a Band <br />Shelter for these bands to perform in. The cost for the shelter and associated costs are <br />higher than expected and therefore; the Park Commission is looking for donations for this <br />
