MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT I.AKES PLANNING COMMISSION/ <br /> BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> �TNE 21� 2018 <br /> PRESENT: Andrew Birch, Mark Hallan(Chair), Douglas Leckband, Nathan Norton, <br /> Brian Wallin (Vice-Chair), and Wesley Wilson. ABSENT: None. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Justin Burslie <br /> ZONING SPECIALIST: Dawn Bittner <br /> COUNCIL LIAISON: Nancy Adams, Mayor <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chair Hallan at b:oo PM. <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PI.AN UPDATE: <br /> Introduction Sectiqn <br /> Mr. Burslie explained these are the last two sections of the Comprehensive Plan to <br /> review. After all of the sections have been updated they will be compiled into one <br /> document and we will hold a Public Hearing and make a recommendation to the City <br /> Council on the proposed changes. <br /> Mr. Burslie stated the Intent paragraphs will be updated by Staff and will include <br /> comments received from the variou,s committees throughout this process. The following <br /> changes were discussed: <br /> • Paragraph 2, instead of"surrounding Brainerd", change to central Minnesota; <br /> • Discussion ensued regarding inclusion of history in each section. One goal was to <br /> condense this document. It was the consensus to create a new history section <br /> and to remove history from all of the sections, making a 2 to 3 page history <br /> section; <br /> • Paragraph 4 states "former"tribe of Algonquian Indians; it is still a tribe in <br /> eastern Connecticut; <br /> Community Character Section <br /> Mr. Burslie explained the te�. The following changes were discussed: <br /> • Sense-of-Place Section is still relevant; <br /> • Reference to the 2006 Downtown Plan needs to be updated; <br /> MINUTES i <br /> Pequot Lakes Planning Commission <br /> June 2i, 2oi8 <br />
