Distances <br /> f�om chu�ches and schools a�e cu��ently included in the oYdinance. <br /> B�ian Laudenbach, one of the paYtne�s of BLM1V1 that owns Oasis Mall, <br /> made the following p�esentation: <br /> • They plan to �aise the enti�e building and�eplace with new const�uction <br /> of a DaiYy Queen, Laund�omat, liquo�sto�e and convenience sto�e, a two <br /> million dolla�p�oject. <br /> • The liquor sto�e would be the p�ima�y funding for the investment. <br /> • With �egard to the cu��ent liquo�o�dinance allowing two licenses, <br /> �equested a foYmal lette�f�om the Council stating this Council has no <br /> intention of making changes to the o�dinance o�making va�iances to it; <br /> �equested confi�mation that if the othe�existing license we�e to be tu�ned <br /> back to the City, the City will not issue it to a new entity; and u�ge futu�e <br /> Councils not to amend the off-sale o�dinance o�offe�va�iances to it out <br /> of respect to BLMM. <br /> • Amend cu�ent liquo�o�dinance by adding the following: (1) 1/3 mile <br /> �adius f�om any off-sale establishment to anothe�; (2) include language <br /> f�om Minnesota Statute 340A.413 fo�fi�st class cities to not offe�mo�e <br /> than 1 license fo�each S,000 of population. <br /> • It may take time to amend the o�dinance and�equests a shoYt te�m <br /> mo�ato�ium while the o�dinance is amended. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO INCL UDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS <br /> IN THE PROPOSED LIQ UOR ORDINANCE AMENDMENT: <br /> • THAT THE CITY WILL NOT ISSUE ADDITIONAL OFF SALE <br /> LIQUOR LICENSES OVER THE CURRENT TWO UNTIL SUCH <br /> TIME AS THE CITY POPULA TION EXCEEDS 5000 <br /> • THAT NO OFF-SALE LICENSE BE GRANTED AND PREMISES <br /> LOCATED WITHINA 1/3 MILE RADIUS OFANOTHER OFF- <br /> SALE LICENSE. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYANSECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED S-0. <br />
