AGENDA ITEM #10.1 c��y of Pequot Lakes= _ REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha Date: June 5, 2018 Subiect: Ordinance Amendment Report: City Code Chapter 9, Article 4 Regulating and Licensing the Sale and Consumption of Malt Liquor, 3.2% Malt Liquor and Intoxicating Liquor within the City has been revised to include language on brew pubs, brewers, taprooms, growlers, and microdistilleries. This Ordinance has also been revised to increase the number of allowable off sale liquor licenses in the City from 2 to 4 and to change the license requirements next to churches and schools. The attached changes noted in red are additions and strikethroughs are deletions. This ordinance amendment has been reviewed by the City Attorney. At the May 1 St City Council Meeting, the Council directed me to inform area churches and the current off sale liquor license holder of this ordinance amendment to gather feedback and to place this item on the June City Council agenda for consideration. On May 7�', I sent letters to the area churches, Super Spirits, Pequot Lakes Supervalu, Pequot Lakes School District, and Mr. Shannon Schmidt informing them of this ordinance amendment. Attached are the written responses I have received to date. I also received a verbal response from the Peyuot Lakes Schools Superintendent to remove the distance to schools of which is reflected in Section 9-4.17 of the attached ordinance amendment. Please note that on February 1, 2010 the following City Council action occurred regarding future issuances of off sale liquor licenses.
