AGENDA ITEM #10.1 <br /> c��y of <br /> Pequot <br /> Lakes= _ <br /> REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL <br /> Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha <br /> Date: June 5, 2018 <br /> Subiect: Ordinance Amendment <br /> Report: City Code Chapter 9, Article 4 Regulating and Licensing the Sale and <br /> Consumption of Malt Liquor, 3.2% Malt Liquor and Intoxicating Liquor within the <br /> City has been revised to include language on brew pubs, brewers, taprooms, <br /> growlers, and microdistilleries. This Ordinance has also been revised to increase <br /> the number of allowable off sale liquor licenses in the City from 2 to 4 and to <br /> change the license requirements next to churches and schools. The attached <br /> changes noted in red are additions and strikethroughs are deletions. This ordinance <br /> amendment has been reviewed by the City Attorney. <br /> At the May 1 St City Council Meeting, the Council directed me to inform area <br /> churches and the current off sale liquor license holder of this ordinance amendment <br /> to gather feedback and to place this item on the June City Council agenda for <br /> consideration. On May 7�', I sent letters to the area churches, Super Spirits, Pequot <br /> Lakes Supervalu, Pequot Lakes School District, and Mr. Shannon Schmidt <br /> informing them of this ordinance amendment. Attached are the written responses I <br /> have received to date. I also received a verbal response from the Peyuot Lakes <br /> Schools Superintendent to remove the distance to schools of which is reflected in <br /> Section 9-4.17 of the attached ordinance amendment. <br /> Please note that on February 1, 2010 the following City Council action occurred <br /> regarding future issuances of off sale liquor licenses. <br /> Oasis Mall Revitalization P�oject <br /> City Attorney Sandelin explained that a letter from the pYope�ty owne� is <br /> included in the Council packet.
